Let’s be honest.
When I ordered this, I knew it was lightweight… but I didn’t fully expect just how lightweight.
This is not a structured mini dress. It’s not something I’d style with heels and wear to brunch. And it’s definitely not something I’d consider for a dinner out. As a reminder, I am 5’10, 155lbs and I ordered this in a small.

But as a pool or beach cover-up? It makes a lot more sense.
The fabric is airy and flowy, and the elastic top helps it stay in place comfortably. It fits like the product photos show… relaxed, swingy, and simple. It actually reminds me of those wraparound towels from the early 2000s…but this one doesn’t wrap. I know you know the ones.
This is a throw it on, done.
Now let’s talk shoulders.
Halter styles can sometimes exaggerate broader or muscular shoulders (which I have), and that’s usually why I avoid them.
Surprisingly, this one wasn’t as dramatic as I expected. It’s not my favorite silhouette, but it’s not unflattering either.

Would I wear this out in public casually? Probably not, unless I was at a beach town, resort, or pool. But layered over a bathing suit, walking through a hotel lobby, grabbing a quick bite after swimming? Absolutely fine.
So here’s the verdict:
Is it a dress? Technically, yes.
Does it function better as a swimsuit cover-up? Also yes.
It’s not bad… it just needs to be worn in the right setting. But is it worth $30…thats up to you to decide.
